Nigeria’s Falconets secured a spot in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a 1-0 win over Burundi in Abuja.
With a 2-0 aggregate victory, Chris Danjuma’s team advanced, thanks to Esther Ajakaye’s goal 11 minutes from the end, assisted by substitute Mary Lucky Mkpa.
In the previous round, the Falconets defeated Tanzania.
The upcoming competition will be hosted by Colombia from August 31 to September 22, 2024, and Nigeria has participated in every edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
