Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has clarified that he does not feel pressured to excel at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, despite scoring one goal in two matches for Nigeria.
Despite missing some scoring opportunities, Osimhen rejects the notion that his performance is affected by the expectations stemming from his title as Africa’s best player.
He emphasized his focus on aiding the Super Eagles in achieving success at the tournament and expressed his indifference to personal accolades, stating that the team’s success is his priority.
Osimhen’s remarks came ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming match against Guinea-Bissau at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan. Kick-off is set for 7pm Nigerian time on Monday.
