Morocco was held to a 1-1 draw by the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations, with Silas Katompa Mvumpa scoring the equalizer.
Despite Achraf Hakimi giving Morocco an early lead, and Cedric Bakambu missing a penalty for DR Congo, Silas’s goal secured a draw.
With four points, Morocco leads Group F after defeating Tanzania and drawing with DR Congo. They play Zambia next and can secure a spot in the knockout stage with a victory.
Morocco had initially dominated the match when Hakimi scored, but DR Congo made a comeback in the second half. The draw leaves Morocco in a good position to advance in the tournament, aiming for their second AFCON title and their first since 1976.
