Nigeria ended the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau, with Opa Sangante’s own goal being the deciding factor for the Super Eagles.
Despite this win, Jose Peseiro’s team finished as runners-up to Equatorial Guinea, who defeated hosts Ivory Coast 4-0. Consequently, Nigeria will face the second-place team in Group C.
In Group C, Senegal is currently leading with six points, followed by Guinea with four points. Cameroon has one point, and Gambia has yet to secure a win.
The upcoming matches will see Senegal facing Guinea and Cameroon playing against Gambia.
The Super Eagles’ Round of 16 game is scheduled for Saturday, January 27 at 9pm WAT.
