Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri has decided to step down following his team’s disappointing exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
His decision comes after Tunisia’s goalless draw with South Africa, marking the end of their AFCON journey. Kadri stated that his contract had set the semifinals as the objective, and since this was not achieved, he has opted to terminate the contract.
Tunisia’s performance at this tournament was underwhelming, as they failed to secure a single victory, finishing at the bottom of Group E.
This outcome is a stark contrast to their success 13 months earlier when they defeated France 1-0 at the World Cup in Qatar. Notably, Tunisia scored their 100th goal in the competition during this AFCON, with Hamza Rafia netting their sole goal in the 1-1 draw with Mali.
