Former Tottenham player Darren Bent criticized Chelsea’s decision to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, claiming the lack of impact in the Carabao Cup final justifies re-evaluating the recruitment process.
Mudryk entered the field late in the final against Liverpool but failed to impress Bent.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent questioned the reasoning behind the expensive transfer:
“The individual who authorized the Mudryk transfer at such a high price needs to be held accountable.
He came on and contributed nothing. When he entered the game, I thought it could be his chance – a big stage, Liverpool tiring,” Bent said.

“However, his key strength, his pace, was completely absent.”
Mudryk’s performance drew scrutiny as he has only managed four goals and five assists in 43 appearances for Chelsea since joining from FC Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for a reported £88.5 million.
