Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, expressed interest in extending Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood’s stay in Spain beyond his Getafe spell.
While acknowledging his legal background and respect for due process, Tebas emphasized judging Greenwood based on his case’s outcome: no charges were pressed.
Greenwood, on loan since January 2023 following cleared assault accusations, has impressed Tebas.
“As a lawyer,” Tebas stated (via BBC), “if someone is legally cleared, there’s nothing more to say. He’s a fantastic player, and I hope he stays in Spain. It benefits us.”
“Respecting legal processes is crucial,” Tebas continued. “While some might have opinions, legal decisions must be respected. There’s nothing further to discuss.”
