Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed on Friday that striker Christopher Nkunku will miss several weeks due to a hamstring injury.
Nkunku, who joined the Blues in a big-money summer transfer, has already missed significant time this season due to injury concerns.
He most recently missed the FA Cup win against Leeds United and is now expected to be absent for the upcoming Premier League match against Brentford.
Pochettino expressed his disappointment for the player, acknowledging the string of setbacks Nkunku has faced: “He suffered a hamstring injury, and we’ll see in a few weeks if he can return.
It’s unfortunate, bad luck for him, as this is another setback after previous injury issues.
It’s tough for a player who hasn’t had much playing time this season, especially considering he arrived from the Bundesliga with some problems already.”
