Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is confident that Thomas Partey’s return from injury will be a major boost in their Premier League title challenge.
Partey, a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield, has been limited to just four league appearances this season due to injuries.
However, he’s expected to be back in the squad for Monday’s match against Sheffield United.
Arteta is particularly excited about the prospect of pairing Partey with record-breaking summer signing Declan Rice.
The duo briefly showcased their potential partnership in the Community Shield victory against Manchester City back in August.
“We still need to see how their chemistry works on the pitch,” Arteta acknowledged to reporters. “But I believe a midfield anchored by Partey and Rice could be very powerful.”
The manager emphasized Partey’s absence this season: “The fact that they’ve only played together once highlights how much we’ve missed Thomas.
A fully fit Partey can have a massive impact in the remaining months of the season.”
