Wright Highlights Nunez Error in Liverpool’s FA Cup Exit
Arsenal legend Ian Wright weighed in on Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, pointing to a critical moment in the game.
Wright focused on a decision by Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez in the second half of extra time.
Nunez lost the ball in midfield, which led to Marcus Rashford’s equalizer for United.
Prior to this, Liverpool had twice taken the lead, scoring three goals throughout the match.
Wright, analyzing the incident on ITV, suggested Nunez could have passed the ball to the left-back instead, preventing the opportunity for United to score.
This costly error ultimately contributed to Liverpool’s elimination from the FA Cup.
“You have to look at Darwin Nunez there.
What are you doing there? The thing is, he’s got the capability to play it to the left-back,” Wright said.
“You don’t put it back into that area. You just don’t do that.”
