Barcelona has expressed interest in Chelsea’s young talent, Carney Chukwuemeka, and could make a bid for him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Spanish giants had previously shown interest in Chukwuemeka in 2022 before he moved to Stamford Bridge.
Despite being an England U21 star, Chukwuemeka has faced challenges establishing himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s team. He has made only nine Premier League appearances this season.
According to Talksport, Barcelona aims to take advantage of Chukwuemeka’s limited game time at Chelsea and persuade him to switch from Stamford Bridge to Catalonia at the end of the current campaign.
However, Xavi’s side already boasts a packed midfield featuring players like Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Oriol Romeu, Fermín López, and İlkay Gündoğan. If Chukwuemeka joins, he will need to compete fiercely to secure a spot in the team.
The big question remains whether Chelsea will be willing to sell him to bolster their squad, especially in the attacking department where they are actively seeking a new striker.
