De Ligt Tempted by Man Utd’s Five-Year Contract Offer

Manchester United have tabled a five-year contract offer to Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to Sky Germany.

Reports suggest De Ligt is receptive to the move, potentially reuniting him with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

United have also held initial talks with Bayern to gauge their openness to a transfer. The German champions reportedly value the 24-year-old defender at €50 million (£42.4 million) including add-ons.

While Manchester United retain interest in English defender Jarrad Branthwaite, their pursuit of De Ligt appears to be the priority. However, they’ll only move for Branthwaite if Everton lower their asking price.
