Chelsea’s Swap Deal for Chiesa Hits Roadblock
Amidst a flurry of transfer activity, Chelsea have encountered a setback in their pursuit of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. The Blues had proposed a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling in an attempt to secure the Italian international. However, negotiations have stalled due to significant discrepancies in player valuations and wages.
Sterling’s salary, nearly double that of Chiesa, proved to be a major stumbling block. Despite Juventus’ interest in the former Manchester City man, the financial disparity has hindered progress.
While the swap deal is currently off the table, Chelsea’s interest in Chiesa remains intact. The club may revisit the possibility if they manage to offload Sterling this summer.
