Ten Hag Frustrated with Man Utd’s Defensive Lapses
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his disappointment with several players following the team’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton. Ten Hag singled out individual errors that contributed to the loss, highlighting defensive lapses and a lack of intensity.
The Red Devils struggled to contain Brighton’s attack, allowing Danny Welbeck to score the opening goal. Despite Amad Diallo’s equalizer, Manchester United’s defensive frailties were exposed once again as Joao Pedro headed home the winning goal.
Ten Hag’s criticism focused on specific players who failed to meet his expectations. He pointed out defensive lapses from Antony, Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo, and Noussair Mazraoui, emphasizing the need for improved performance and concentration.
“We didn’t stop the cross,” Ten Hag said.
“There were three players. [Adingra is a] right-footed player, send him down the line, send him wide instead of letting him come in and let the cross.
“We have, of course, to talk about this.”
