Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has lauded Leandro Trossard for his decisive impact in the Gunners’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.
The Belgian forward came off the bench to score the second goal at Villa Park, earning praise from Arteta for his mentality and quality.
“Trossard deserves a lot of credit,” Arteta said in his post-match interview. “He’s a fantastic player with a great mentality. He always contributes positively when he comes on.”
With Trossard’s impressive performance, Arteta hinted that the 29-year-old could feature more prominently in the starting lineup going forward, adding, “We have two excellent left wingers.”
The win over Aston Villa further solidified Arsenal’s position in the Premier League table.
“It is always a challenge but you know you are going to get the quality for specific games.
“I decided to play Gabi [Martinelli and he had a good performance but I decided we had to change the game because it was taking a different route; he [Trossard] came on and made the difference and big credit to him.”
