Transfer twist: Barcelona could hijack Liverpool deal

Barcelona has made a late bid to acquire Liverpool’s promising young midfielder, Stefan Bajcetic, according to Fabrizio Romano. Bajcetic, who impressed under Jurgen Klopp two seasons ago, has been seeking regular playing time following an injury-interrupted campaign.

With several Liverpool prospects already departing the club, including Bobby Clark’s move to RB Salzburg, Bajcetic was initially set to join his former teammate in Austria on loan. However, Barcelona’s late entry into the race has thrown a wrench into those plans.

The Blaugrana have submitted a substantial loan offer for Bajcetic, including a €4 million loan fee and no option or obligation to buy. This attractive proposal could sway Liverpool, especially considering the recent rejection of a bid for Tyler Morton from Bayer Leverkusen.

While Barcelona’s offer seems promising, the question of whether they can successfully register Bajcetic remains to be seen. The Spanish club’s financial situation and La Liga’s fair-play rules could present challenges in completing this transfer.
