Klopp Criticizes Ten Hag’s Handling of Sancho
Jürgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, has expressed his disapproval of Erik ten Hag’s management of Jadon Sancho.
Sancho was loaned to Chelsea this summer after falling out with ten Hag at Manchester United. Despite being reintegrated into the first-team squad, Sancho’s departure to Chelsea indicates that his future at Old Trafford is uncertain.
Klopp believes that ten Hag should have shown more support for Sancho instead of allowing him to leave on loan. He criticized the decision to loan a player who was signed for a significant fee of £80 million.
Klopp emphasized the importance of a manager’s role in supporting and believing in their players, even during difficult times.
“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player,” Klopp said.
“I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”
