Inter Milan Emerges as Potential Loan Destination for Ben Chilwell
Despite a surprising return to Chelsea’s first-team training, Ben Chilwell could still be on the move in January with Inter Milan reportedly interested in a loan deal.
Chilwell was deemed surplus to requirements by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca earlier in the summer. However, no concrete offers materialized, leaving him in a limbo situation.
Now, reports from Italy suggest Inter Milan might offer Chilwell a temporary escape route. The Italian giants are reportedly interested in a six-month loan deal for the England international. While Chilwell isn’t their top target, a permanent transfer for €25 million remains a possibility.
This potential move comes after a surprising turn of events at Chelsea. Initially exiled, Chilwell is now back in training and could be used as needed by Maresca. The manager acknowledged that the situation had changed and Chilwell would be considered for selection.
While Manchester United and Fenerbahce showed interest in Chilwell during the summer, his high salary and injury concerns deterred potential suitors.
With Inter Milan entering the picture, Chilwell might finally find a way out of Chelsea, even if it’s just a temporary loan.
