Dyche Regrets Iwobi’s Departure from Everton
Everton manager Sean Dyche has expressed his disappointment over the club’s decision to sell Alex Iwobi to Fulham last summer.
Iwobi, who spent four years at Everton after joining from Arsenal in 2019, became a fan favorite and a key player for the Toffees. He was even named the club’s Players’ Player of the Season in his final campaign.
Despite his contributions, Everton opted to sell the Nigerian international to Fulham. Dyche admitted that while it was a good deal for the club financially, he would have preferred to keep Iwobi at Goodison Park.
“It was a very good deal for the club. I thought he was an excellent servant certainly in my time here, enjoyed having him around the place,” Dyche was quoted by Liverpool World.
“He was a joy to work with, a very good player in my opinion. Not one I wanted to lose but needs must be met at that time. It was a good fee for a good player.”
