Sherwood: Sees a Future Star
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has heaped praise on Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia, describing the young Belgian as a “top, top class midfield player.”
Lavia, who joined Chelsea from Southampton last summer, has impressed with his vision and composure on the ball, despite suffering injury setbacks last season.
His recent performances against Liverpool and Newcastle United, including a crucial assist against the latter, have further solidified his reputation as a rising star.
Sherwood believes that Lavia has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the world. “I think he’s incredible,” Sherwood said on the Seaman Says podcast.
“Every time he gets the ball he just looks to see where Cole [Palmer] is.” Chelsea will be hoping that Lavia can continue his impressive form as they face Newcastle United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
