Sherwood Urges Amorim to Bring Gyokeres to Man Utd
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has urged new Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim to bring Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres to Old Trafford.
Sherwood believes that Gyokeres, who has been in excellent form for Sporting, could provide the much-needed firepower up front for the Red Devils. He suggested that the club might need to offload underperforming striker Joshua Zirkzee to accommodate the Swedish international.
“He (Amorim) needs to then decide what do I need in January. Does he bring in Marcus Edwards with him? That boy is a superstar. Do we bring Gyokeres? He’s absolutely on fire at the moment,” Sherwood said.
“I would suggest 100 per cent that boy comes in because they’re [United] starved of centre-forwards.”However, it’s important to note that Gyokeres is not currently a target for Manchester United.
