Nuno Espirito Santo secured his first victory as Nottingham Forest manager with a 3-1 win over Newcastle, powered by Chris Wood’s hat-trick against his former team.
While Newcastle initially took the lead with an Alexander Isak penalty, Chris Wood equalized just before half-time and went on to score two more goals in the second half.
This was Forest’s first win in eight games and only their second in their last 15 matches. Following this win, Nottingham Forest moved five points clear of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Newcastle’s recent defeat leaves them seven points adrift of the top four in seventh place.
