Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has cautioned Axel Disasi about the possibility of losing his place at Chelsea next season if Thiago Silva continues with the club.
Since Disasi’s £38.5 million transfer from Monaco last summer, he has appeared in 22 matches for the team, showcasing his versatility by playing in both centre-back and right-back positions due to injuries under coach Mauricio Pochettino.
With uncertainty surrounding Silva’s future as his contract approaches expiration, Ferdinand believes that the 39-year-old should continue at Chelsea for another season and partner with Levi Colwill.
According to Ferdinand, this would mean Disasi might not have the opportunity to play, as he suggested playing Colwill in the left centre-back position.
