Daniel Maldini, the son of Paolo Maldini, an esteemed figure in Italian football, completed a loan move from AC Milan to Monza today until the end of the season.
Maldini had previously been on loan at Empoli this season and made a substitute appearance in their recent 3-0 home defeat to Milan. Last season, the 22-year-old was on loan at Spezia and notably scored against his parent club in a memorable 2-1 defeat in November 2022.
His first senior career goal came against Spezia for Milan in the preceding season. Despite his numerous appearances this season, he has not yet scored or assisted any goals. Monza, having achieved a strong position in Serie A since their promotion in 2022, currently hold the 11th spot in the league.
Raffaele Palladino’s team is set to take on the league leaders, Inter Milan, this Saturday.
