Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, urged the Super Eagles to aim for victory in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as a source of encouragement for Nigerians facing economic challenges.
Speaking at a special dinner for the team before their departure to Cote-de-Ivoire for the AFCON Competition, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the unifying role of the team and the nation’s support for their efforts.
He expressed belief in the team’s abilities, highlighting the need for unity and peace in the country, and urged the players to demonstrate their patriotism and persistence on the field.
The Governor was joined by the Minister of Sports and other notable figures at the event.
