Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that Victor Boniface has undergone a successful surgery after suffering a groin injury during Nigeria’s training for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 23-year-old striker will now begin his rehabilitation in Leverkusen and is expected to be out of action until April 2024.
As a result of his injury, Terem Moffi from OGC Nice has been named as his replacement in Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 squad.
