Israeli footballer arrested over Israel-Hamas incitement war message – Media

Sagiv Jehezkel, an Israeli footballer playing for Antalyaspor in Turkey, was arrested following a controversial incident during a match against Trabsonspor.

After scoring a goal, he revealed a message on a bandage on his wrist that read “100 days. 07/10,” referencing the Israel-Hamas war, which had reached 100 days.

Turkish news outlets reported that the Turkish justice minister announced an investigation into Jehezkel for suspected “incitement to hate,” and his club, Antalyaspor, subsequently terminated his contract.

The Turkish justice minister condemned Jehezkel’s action as “odious celebration in favor of the massacre committed by Israel in Gaza” and expressed support for the Palestinians while denouncing the ongoing situation in Gaza as “genocide.”
