Empoli, a struggling team in Serie A, has parted ways with coach Aurelio Andreazzoli after just four months in the role.
The decision comes after Andreazzoli was brought in last September to replace Paolo Zanetti following a humiliating 7-0 defeat against Roma.
The club has appointed Davide Nicola, aged 50, on a one-year contract with the option for an additional season.
In their press release, Empoli expressed their sincere gratitude to Mr. Andreazzoli for his recent work and also acknowledged the departure of his two assistants.
Empoli currently sits in 19th place in the table with 13 points from 20 games, having suffered a 2-1 loss to relegation rivals Hellas Verona last weekend.
