However, Mozambique mounted an extraordinary late comeback, with Geny Catamo scoring a penalty in the 90th minute, followed by Reinildo Mandava securing a second goal to salvage a point. This shocking turn of events means that the Black Stars are still seeking their first win in AFCON 2023, having played three matches without securing a victory.
Although Mozambique claimed their first point, both teams, along with Gabon, have been eliminated at the group stage. Ghana needed a win to advance but succumbed to a remarkable 23-minute surge from Mozambique in the closing stages of the match.
