The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has honored Victor Osimhen as the “Lion of Africa” and praised his instrumental role in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Cameroon during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 clash.
In the match, Ademola Lookman scored both goals for Nigeria, with Osimhen assisting in the first goal. CAF shared a video of Osimhen’s celebration after Nigeria’s goal on its official social media platform, captioning it with the popular phrase “Lion of Africa no gree for anybody! Ginger o porrr! No retreat, no surrender.”
Following their victory, Nigeria is set to face Angola in the quarter-finals, while Angola secured their spot in the last 8 by defeating Namibia 3-0.
