Taiwo Awoniyi is poised to make a comeback for Nottingham Forest in their game against Arsenal today following his recuperation from a groin injury sustained while on international duty in October 2023.
The 26-year-old underwent surgery for the injury and has been absent from action since then.
Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Awoniyi’s ongoing recovery and integration back into the team, stating that they will assess his readiness before determining his participation.
Awoniyi, a Nigerian international, has recorded four goals and two assists in 10 league appearances for the club this season, and was the top scorer for Nottingham Forest last season with 10 goals.
