Confident Colwill rallies Chelsea before the Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool.

Before Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final match against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday, February 25, the star player for Chelsea, Levi Colwill, sent out a defiant message.

With the Carabao Cup representing the Blues’ only opportunity to take home a trophy this season, Colwill exudes confidence ahead of the eagerly awaited matchup.

According to the defender, via Fabrizio Romano on X: “We want to prove to Chelsea that we are winners and capable of lifting trophies.” That’s the reason we’re going there.

The West London team has struggled in the Premier League this year; after 25 games, they currently sit in 10th place with 35 points. 

They will, however, have a tough test in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, who are now atop the league standings.

In the semi-finals, the Blues defeated Middlesbrough 6-2 on aggregate. In the final four, the Merseysiders defeated Fulham 3-2 overall.

In English football, Wembley games are unique events, and important cup matches take place in the esteemed stadium.

Aside from that, the stadium is unique because of its past. Recently, Levi Colwill was questioned about his experience playing in the stadium during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final.

On the subject, the defender stated (through the Blues website):

For an English boy like me, Wembley means a lot. I’m sure all the boys will be game, but if I can help pique their interest a bit more, I will. 

Although we still have a lot to prove this season, taking home the trophy would be a fantastic way to validate our efforts.

Colwill has made 29 appearances across all competitions this season, solidifying his position in Chelsea’s defense.

Thus far, he has contributed one and scored one. This season, Colwill has made six appearances in the Carabao Cup.
