“He’s a free-kick wizard” — “Guardiola throws shade at Chelsea by praising their transfer target, Toney, as a ‘master player’.”

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, heaped praise on Chelsea transfer target, Ivan Toney, calling him a “master player” after a tough encounter between their teams.

Despite City’s 1-0 win, secured late by Erling Haaland, Guardiola acknowledged the difficulty of the match, crediting Brentford’s resilience and particularly Toney’s performance.

“They’re a very difficult team,” Guardiola said. “This season alone, we’ve dropped points twice against them.

Toney, their striker, is a master player, truly top-quality. He, along with their set-piece expertise, made things challenging.”

This high praise comes amid ongoing transfer rumors linking Toney to Chelsea, alongside Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

It remains to be seen which striker, if either, will ultimately secure a move to Stamford Bridge.
