Troost-Ekong’s knee surgery in Finland is a success.

Nigerian footballer William Troost-Ekong, vice-captain of the Super Eagles, underwent successful knee surgery in Finland on Tuesday night.

Troost-Ekong, despite sustaining a hamstring injury during Nigeria’s second match against Cote d’Ivoire at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, remarkably played in six of the team’s seven games and even scored three goals.

His crucial contributions propelled Nigeria to a second-place finish, and he was deservedly named Player of the Tournament.

Currently the highest-scoring defender in AFCON history, Troost-Ekong is expected to be back on the field by the end of the season.
