Osimhen stars with hat-trick and assist in Napoli’s dominant win over Sassuolo
Victor Osimhen turned in a commanding performance, scoring a hat-trick and assisting another goal, as Napoli demolished Sassuolo 6-1 at the MAPEI Stadium on Wednesday night.
Despite falling behind to an early goal in the 13th minute, Napoli quickly responded with an equalizer from Amir Rrahmani just 12 minutes later.
Osimhen then took over the match, putting Napoli ahead for the first time with a goal in the 31st minute.
His scoring spree continued with two more goals before the half-time whistle, finding the net in the 41st and 47th minutes.
Not content with his own goals, Osimhen also set up Kvicha Kvaratskhelia for Napoli’s fifth goal in the 52nd minute. He was eventually substituted by Giovanni Simeone in the 76th minute.
This impressive performance brings Osimhen’s total to five goals in just three games since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
He now has an impressive tally of 11 goals and 3 assists in his 15 Serie A appearances this season.
