Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf believes veteran defender Thiago Silva, despite a strong season with few injuries, should leave the club at the end of the season to allow younger central defenders a chance to develop.
While acknowledging Silva’s valuable leadership and experience, Leboeuf emphasizes the need for a generational shift.
He stated to BetVictor, “There’s a time for everything to end,” and praised Silva’s contributions, but believes younger players are ready to take the reins.
He cited his own experience alongside Marcel Desailly and John Terry, highlighting the need for every player to eventually step aside for the next generation.
