Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has revealed his preference for the Premier League title race, and it has everything to do with his past.
Walker, who spent eight years playing for Tottenham Hotspur, City’s fierce North London rivals, admitted he wouldn’t want Arsenal to win the title.
On the FIVE podcast, when asked about the title race, Walker said (quote): “‘It’s so hard. I don’t want Arsenal [to win] because of Tottenham.'”
He jokingly confirmed his lingering loyalty to Spurs when pressed by host Rio Ferdinand about his feelings for his former club. (“Yeah, I just don’t want Arsenal.”)
Currently, Liverpool leads the pack with 63 points, followed by City (1 point behind) and then Arsenal (2 points behind).
This intense competition makes Walker’s preference all the more interesting!
