Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s participation in upcoming friendlies is in question after picking up an injury during Chippa United’s PSL match against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday [DAILY POST].
Nwabali was forced to leave the field in the 73rd minute of the 2-0 loss to the champions.
The exact nature of the suspected knee injury remains unclear and will be determined in the coming days.
This is a blow for the Nigerian national team, as Nwabali was recently called up for the friendlies against Ghana and Mali scheduled for March 22nd and 26th respectively, both at Stade de Marrakech.
The 27-year-old impressed at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and will be hoping to recover in time to join the squad.
