Granit Xhaka, a former Arsenal midfielder who recently joined Bayer Leverkusen, has given his former club a strong vote of confidence in the Premier League title race.
Praising Mikel Arteta’s team for their recent run of form (eight wins in a row), Xhaka acknowledged their near miss last season but expressed hope for their title chances this time around.
“Sure, of course, we saw Liverpool’s result against City,” Xhaka told German outlet Kicker.
“Of course, you’re happy for that former club where you had seven wonderful years. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it last year, hopefully, it will work this time.”
Currently leading the Premier League table on goal difference, Arsenal will be looking to maintain their momentum and finally claim the title that eluded them last season.
