Inter Milan Crash Out: Inzaghi Blames Costly Errors
Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi shouldered the blame for his team’s Champions League exit against Atletico Madrid.
Despite winning the first leg, Inter fell short after a penalty shootout defeat in the second leg.
Inzaghi pinpointed “too many mistakes” by his players as the deciding factor.
While acknowledging their first-half performance, he regretted Inter’s drop in the second half and lamented missed opportunities in extra time.
“Obviously, we’re disappointed,” Inzaghi said according to UEFA’s website. “We should be proud of our Champions League run, but in the second half, we needed to do better.
Even with more energy in extra time, the mistakes proved costly.”
This statement suggests Inzaghi believes Inter had the potential to advance but were let down by crucial errors at key moments.
