Disaster struck for West Ham youngster George Earthy during his Premier League debut against Fulham.
Earthy, who came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute, collided with teammate Edson Alvarez just three minutes later.
The clash resulted in a head injury for Earthy, prompting medical personnel to rush onto the field. He received oxygen treatment while lying on the ground for eight minutes.
Fulham manager Marco Silva even entered the pitch to check on the player’s well-being.
Ultimately, Earthy was unable to continue and was stretchered off the field, replaced by Maxwel Cornet. This marked a disappointing end to what was supposed to be a landmark moment for the 19-year-old.
West Ham expressed their support for Earthy on social media, stating, “George Earthy receives a head injury and is stretchered off the pitch. We’re all behind you, George.” Fulham echoed the sentiment, wishing Earthy a speedy recovery.
