Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, admits Cole Palmer’s goal-scoring form at Chelsea has surpassed his initial expectations.
The young attacker arrived from Manchester City for £42 million last summer. Since then, Palmer has bagged an impressive 20 Premier League goals, putting him neck-and-neck with his former teammate Erling Haaland for the top scorer title.
Pochettino, when questioned about Palmer’s goal tally, conceded: “We knew he had potential, but his performances have definitely been above what we initially anticipated.
It’s important to remember this is his first season playing consistently, and there’s still room for growth in other areas. Let’s not get carried away – he’s young and developing.”
“That being said,” Pochettino added honestly, “he’s definitely exceeded our early expectations for him.”
