Nigerian defender William Troost-Ekong is making a faster-than-expected recovery from his thigh surgery in February. The injury, sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, initially threatened to sideline him for months.
Troost-Ekong, who plays for PAOK Salonica in Greece, shared positive news in an interview with Eagle7fm. He’s already back on the training field with the ball and expects to rejoin the team “in a matter of days.”
This is a significant boost for PAOK, who are currently chasing the Greek League title. With just a seven-week recovery compared to the initial estimates of 3-4 months, Troost-Ekong could be back in action to help his team challenge leaders AEK Athens, who are only two points ahead in the standings.
