Looking for a Fair Shot: Mourinho Outlines Expectations for Next Club
Out of work since his January departure from Roma, Jose Mourinho isn’t just waiting for any offer. The 61-year-old manager, linked with clubs in the Saudi league, has set his sights on a European return.
His priority? Clear and achievable goals. “[I want] targets and objectives established fairly,” Mourinho told The Telegraph.
He emphasizes realistic expectations, avoiding situations where his past successes burden him with unrealistic championship aspirations.
“Would I still have a job at a big club if we finished mid-table?” he asks. “I want to be judged like others.”
Mourinho highlights his ability to exceed expectations, citing his success with Roma reaching the Europa Conference League final. “The club’s goals should be achievable, not like taking a relegation-threatened team to win the Champions League.”
