Modric Makes History As He surpasses Puskas’ record in Champions League

Luka Modric rewrote the record books for Real Madrid in Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final clash against Bayern Munich.

Coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute, the 38-year-old midfielder became the oldest player to ever feature for Real Madrid in the Champions League (previously held by Ferenc Puskas at 38 years and 229 days).

Despite not being a regular starter this season under Carlo Ancelotti, Modric’s experience proved valuable, replacing England’s Jude Bellingham in the hard-fought 2-2 draw.

This achievement adds another chapter to Modric’s decorated career, with 528 appearances, 39 goals, and 84 assists for Los Blancos. He’ll be hoping to contribute further when Real Madrid hosts Bayern for the return leg next week.
