British commentator Piers Morgan has leveled criticism at Manchester United’s coach, Erik ten Hag, for his alleged inability to effectively manage top-tier talent, as evidenced by the contentious exits of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho from the team.
Morgan took to Twitter on X to voice his disapproval of the Dutch coach’s handling of challenging personalities, which he believes led to Ronaldo leaving in late 2022 and Sancho’s earlier public fallout with Ten Hag this season.
Morgan posited that the core issue at Manchester United is not the ‘difficult’ high-caliber players, but rather a coach who is not adept at managing them, as seen by Rashford’s underperformance and Ronaldo and Sancho’s success elsewhere.
His tweet from yesterday read: “The fact that Ronaldo and now Sancho are thriving outside of United, while Rashford is faltering at the club, points to the real issue not being the ‘difficult’ world-class players, but rather a coach who can’t manage them.”
In other news, Sancho is anticipated to make a comeback to Manchester United once his loan stint with Dortmund concludes at the season’s end.
