Transfer Target Update: Osimhen Reportedly Favors Move to Arsenal

Prolific Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, on fire for Napoli in recent seasons, reportedly has his sights set on the Premier League, with Arsenal his preferred destination. This news comes amidst a complex transfer situation.

Arsenal’s recent focus on signing a winger could throw a wrench in their pursuit of Osimhen. Italian journalist Valter De Maggio, speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, revealed that while Arsenal tops Osimhen’s list, he’d consider other options, including lucrative offers from the Middle East, if Arsenal doesn’t make a move.

De Maggio emphasized Osimhen’s preference for North London, stating, “Osimhen wants the Premier League; if the offer doesn’t come, then he would consider the Arab one.”

However, a major hurdle exists: Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has slapped a hefty €130 million release clause on Osimhen and is unwilling to negotiate.

This astronomical price tag, coupled with Arsenal’s potential shift in strategy towards a winger, likely influenced by Kai Havertz’s success, presents a significant challenge for the Gunners in securing Osimhen.
