Former Nigerian goalkeeper Peterside Idah has weighed in on the public dispute between striker Victor Osimhen and ex-coach Finidi George. Osimhen recently criticized Finidi on social media after the coach reportedly questioned his commitment to the national team.
Osimhen missed the recent World Cup qualifiers due to injury, and Nigeria’s poor results have them at risk of missing the tournament. Idah believes Osimhen should apologize for his comments towards Finidi, who he considers a legend.
“He needs to apologize for the things he said,” Idah stated in a video. “If you have issues, call him directly. That’s what responsible people do.” Idah suggests the Nigerian Football Federation intervene and encourage Osimhen to make amends.
