Despite England’s narrow 1-0 victory over Serbia in their Euro 2024 opener, former midfielder Paul Scholes has questioned manager Gareth Southgate’s decision to omit Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish from the squad.
Both players were surprise omissions, particularly Rashford following his success with Manchester City last season.
Scholes, taking to Instagram, expressed concerns about the team’s inexperience.
He feels Southgate’s selection, while featuring talented youngsters, resembles an U21 squad rather than a seasoned national team.
