Manchester United’s pursuit of Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has been halted due to UEFA regulations on club ownership. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed this news on Wednesday evening.
According to Romano, advanced talks were underway with all parties interested. However, UEFA rules prevent clubs under the same ownership from competing in the same European competition.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns a majority stake in Nice (who qualified for the Europa League) and a minority stake in Manchester United (also in the Europa League), the transfer cannot proceed.
